“The sacrifices made by America’s

military children are no less heroic

than their parent’s patriotism.”

-Tim Dunnigan

Freedom isn’t free

Servicemen and women routinely and repeatedly separate from their kids. Over 2 million American children have had a parent deployed at least once in recent overseas conflicts. Almost 1 million children have experienced the deployment of one or both parents multiple times during the same time period. These deployments are necessary for the safety and security of all Americans but at a cost to the families left behind - especially the children.

The mental health toll

Children in military families experience high rates of mental health, trauma, and related problems. An estimated 37% of children with a deployed parent reported that they seriously worry about what could happen to their deployed caretaker. About 30% reported feeling sad or hopeless almost every day for 2 weeks during the past 12 months. Nearly 1 in 4 reported having considered suicide.

Wartime is not the only sacrifice

Service members routinely leave home for military professional development, advanced education, military schools, and unit training. These necessary family separations can sometimes last longer than even a wartime deployment. America’s military children deserve our support now - we should not wait for global conflicts to act.

Our mission is to bring light to the plight of America’s military children. Our vision is to directly impact and improve their lives through mentorship, active parent engagement, community outreach, and scholarships.

Our goals:

  1. Promote active parental engagement with young children with I’m a Hero Too!® book donations to families, elementary schools and communities.

  2. Create mentor programs and peer outreach focused on middle school students.

  3. Provide college scholarships and education mentorship to high school students.

Please join us in honoring these young

American heroes for their consistent

sacrifices in support of our freedom.
